Warning: Contents include words like Love and Spirituality

*My feelings get stirred easily sometimes. Especially when the topic is one of great importance to me or my family. Anyone who knows me can validate, I don't care to debate politics or religion. Belief is something you generally can not or should not try to change in another person. To each his own, right? Well I am also a lover of words. Thoughts and emotions put on paper. A few recent events and things I've read have caused me the need to allow myself a small purging. Within the confines of my online outlet. After all, what is living authentically, if not allowing your heart to speak from time to time:) And so then...

I find it most sad that there are people, my fellow human beings, that can so self righteously say they are without a doubt 100% sure that their beliefs and religion
are the only "truth". Are we really this narrow minded? To be as confident as to say that what is in one book is all "fact" and therefore those who do not CHOOSE to follow your God are "wrong". I wonder what God would you be quoting facts from if you happen to be born in a country where the Christian bible is not taught? Where you may be given the  Dao de jing to learn the ways of Taoism or Bhagavad Gita to learn your Hindu heritage or the Tipitaka and the many Buddhists texts that speak of love and compassion. Where do all of these beautiful human beings go to according to you, if you are basing your life's journey from birth to grave on one book of scriptures written 3500 years ago by the God you happened to be taught. I truly am in awe of the theory of "only one way to eternal life and happiness". Where then, has the spirit of The Buddha, the Dalai Lama, Gandhi gone to? Or how about the many beautiful spirits of our Native American ancestors who believed that God is to be found in the wind, the trees, the oceans...but mostly within ourselves.
Pure and simple. It's not complicated. LOVE IS LOVE.
Any love, all love, every love. Love between parent and child, siblings, best friends, partners and spouses... regardless of age, race, sex, religion. When a heart opens up and pours out selfless love towards another human being, let's be thankful and proud and accepting and overwhelmed with joy! Because too many moments these days are filled with hatred and sadness so maybe we should celebrate LOVE. All love.
A God and a Heaven that discriminates based upon who my heart loves is honestly and respectively not where I'd want to be. I wake up everyday and am thankful! For the wonderful loving people in my life. For my complete and utter happiness. For my blessings, and I have so many! And for the hope that every person can have these things as well.
This universe is vast and full of many wonderful different facets of spirituality. It is so sad and unfortunate when those are limited by just "one way".
Travel, my friends! Open your heart and mind. Visit a Native American reservation. Go to Indonesia and pray in an Ashram. Walk the hallways and corridors of a Buddhist Montessori. Read! Pour through the pages of others spiritual scriptures. Use wisdom and seek knowledge. Step outside of your one book and see spirituality through other eyes. That doesn't mean you are disregarding your beliefs, it's only more love in many different beautiful ways. To call others spiritual paths and walks of life "the wrong way" because it is not the way you have chosen, is by far the most saddening pass of judgement there is.
Be well.  I hope you are able to see and feel someday the so very many other ways of prayer and worship and spirit that we have inside this speck of dust we are on by happenstance.
Shanti. Namaste. Sholem. Peace. प्रीति.

One Love❤️
