Indian Summer (and Pics of Food are Pretty!)

Touche. Because I know you all have been thinking, "Where has her promises of more posts gone? Wasn't she supposed to be FULL OF THOUGHTS TO SHARE?"
To any of you ready to give up on me, I am sorry. Suffice it to say, Ive been busy. Yeah, yeah i know...aren't we all! That's no excuse to get all literally lazy. I wont begin to make excuses. I wont go on and on about June being filled with kids sports injuries,  job losses, 2 birthdays, saying goodbye to our newborn, weddings, out of town visitors, 6th grade graduations, party planning, a new baby...oh and did i mention, we got married?! But I wont say anything...;)
The summer seems to be ticking by at warp speed. I feel like i barely even remember July happening. I suppose that is typical though, especially here in the great East Northern United States. Warmer months are fleeting just because there are so few. I do admittedly love our transition seasons too. Spring holds that sense of renewal and rebirth that we all need and love after Winter. Then there is Fall. Oh, how I love thee, Autumn. I really do! The delicious scents and tastes of Fall are by far my favorites. Crisp clean air, warm cozy sweaters, Indian Summer bonfires. They all speak to my soul. Most of all though, i love to cook in Fall. From our annual apple picking turned obscene amounts of apple crisps, baked apples and butternut squash & apple bisque to crock pot magic and one pot wonders. Lentils, chili, risotto, roasted veggies, baked pastas...my list is endless. I literally get giddy! This is my way of transitioning into my next blog post.

We all know I like to write what's on my mind, sometimes it comes out loud and opinionated. Other times just a touch of kindness towards a wounded world. Then there are the nonsensical fun blurbs I like to throw in from time to time. Music. Inspirational quotes. Photos. All pieces of myself I put out there to share with all of you. So it seems fitting to make this official statement of my next endeavor, sharing my love of food!
I was raised to love food. As I grew up and began to test the limits of my tastes, I began to find an even deeper desire to create new foods. Then becoming a mother really helped turn my culinary interests into a more health driven journey. We don't label ourselves one "type" of anything. I feel everyone should make choices for their lives based on what feels right to them...in the moment even. It's about mastering the art of knowing your body and what it needs each and every day. There isn't ONE solution to any question concerning our health.  I believe there is an ever changing, always evolving need to feed not only our physical bodies but also emotional and mental, even spiritual bodies! And food truly can do it all. Good, quality, healthful, real, living foods! I'm hoping, although I'm still (and always) learning, that I can share what I do with all of you. It'll be fun! :) And what is better than pretty pictures of yummy food?!
To all my friends here on the East coast (and everywhere, really) enjoy the remaining days of summertime! Take in every single sunny moment and have faith in a gorgeous well deserved extended warm Autumn.
Here's hoping! Be well. Do well. ❤️
Until next time...
